THE SINT MAARTEN ST MARTIN DOUBLE CARNIVAL 2014 IS BACK photos rome benjamin photos

Considering that St Maarteners and St Martiners start preparing for Carnival right before Christmas, tells you how serious we are about carnival. So the French Carnival has officially started on Sunday we had the Children's parade and next Sunday will be the Grand Parade, so everybody come out and support our French family. Before French Carnival is over, Dutch Sint Maarten pre -celebration jump ups would have started already. So some nights you'll be able to run back and forth over the borden. The Unity Jump up is then supposed to start in French St Martin and take its way over the border to Dutch St Maarten's Carnival village (yes you jam from Marigot to Philipsburg-the world's best workout). The French and Dutch celebrate differently, so try to attend both. Although many of the carnival fanatics who take part every year, participate in BOTH carnivals. French St Martin is what we call 'classy', they get to teeter down Rue de La Republique from Agrement, and when they get to the Main Stage, beautiful choreography. Dutch St Maarten is what we call the sassy carnival, and critics stop complaining, many of the girls participate in both, so the same girls who at classy on the French Side, get sassy on the Dutch side, and THAT'S why they come over.  Dutch Carnival for Jouvert, 2nd Day Parade can be downright hedonistic, and that's why you leave the kids at home. The children have their day (s) where only children participate. The Main Parade on the Dutch side, is relatively sedated. On that day they get judged on their costumes etc. I noticed Survivor has start to integrate choreography-beautiful! What makes Dutch St Maarten's carnival so outrageously popular that thousands of other islanders visit to participate, is because of the great music, dancing wukup girls, and tons of free liquour!! Yes tons and tons, or should I say Gallons or barrels of free liquor. Every liquor distributor is out during Dutch Carnival, something that's restricted during French Carnivals. Heineken being a Dutch beer used to dominate, but now the Americans like Coors like, and other drink companies such as Monster are making their appearance. So when the Dutch Side goes wild its because of all the free rum, Heinekens, and monster energy drinks. The Carnival Development Association HATES my raw videos of Jouvert and 2nd day parade, because my videos are real. It's a part of our culture to 'bruk out' for carnival. And you cannot have carnival without bachannal. Once again Judith Roumou (St Maarten Online Network) has the #1 Carnival video. All you have to do is Youtube search: St Maarten Carnival 2013.
Judith Roumou will be back. Better equipment, better cameras, more photographers etc etc....
Stay tuned, and of course subscribe to the St Maarten online blogs, to get the true behind the scenes Carnival stories.
