You can't make any true plans on St Maarten's day November 11th because there are so many activities going on . I spent St Maarten's day running to a marathon on the Pondside, a Bike race on Cannegieter, and a Police and Dignitaries Parade on the Main road.  The above video is one drum or marching band. Notice that the drummers are usually led by the girls, and the are usually the best. Drumming is a national pasttime in St Maarten, and many parents allow their kids to join school programs to become drummers to release their pent up energy. More photos and videos to come.
